CDEP's Insulin Safety Training shortlisted for prestigous HSJ Patient Safety Awards

We are delighted to announce that CDEP has been shortlisted for our Digital Insulin Safety Training for Healthcare Staff in the category Patient Safety Education and Training Award at the HSJ’s Patient Safety Awards 2020.

CDEP offers 2 insulin safety training topics:

  • One for hospital staff working with Variable Rate Intravenous Insulin Infusion (VRIII)
  • One for other staff working in the community or a general ward setting

CDEP has already won a national Quality in Care (QiC) Diabetes Award in 2019 for this insulin safety training, so we are very excited to receive further acknowledgement of the quality training we are offering to raise awareness of this important subject.

CDEP developed this training with input from Cambridge University Hospital’s diabetes team as well as national experts such as Dr Gerry Rayman, Dr Sam Rice, Chris Cottrell and Diabetes UK with the support of PocketMedic to create bespoke films to enrich the online learning.

The HSJ Patient Safety Awards will be held virtually in November 2020.
