New Topic: Foot Care
CDEP is proud to launch its 15th topic - Foot Care.
The inclusion of this topic brings the total diabetes CPD time offered to 28 hours.
This topic is targeted at healthcare practitioners working with people with diabetes, but not working as registered specialist staff within a foot protection or multidisciplinary (MDT) foot care team. CDEP has utilised the core competencies from the Diabetes UK Podiatry Competency Framework for Integrated Diabetic Foot Care as the basis for this topic.
The aim of this topic is provide a board overview of diabetic foot care in order to support minimum standards of basic foot care and raise awareness of the NICE recommended care pathways as well as trigger timely referrals to hopefully prevent or at worst reduce the consequences of diabetic foot disease .
We are very grateful for the content guidance from members of the Diabetes MDT foot clinic at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as well as the external testing by experts in the field from the College of Podiatry, North East Essex CCG and Plymouth University.
